Audiobook and Ebook App for iPhone, iPad & iPod Touch

OverDrive (www.overdrive.com) has announced the availability of OverDrive’s free audiobook application for iPhone®, iPadTM, and iPod touch®. With OverDrive® Media ConsoleTM for iPhone, users can now wirelessly download MP3 audiobooks to their Apple® device.

How to get it:

Option 1. Open the App store on your iPhone or iPod Touch and search for ‘OverDrive Media Console’ to download the application directly.

Option 2. Open the iTunes store on your computer, search for ‘OverDrive Media Console’, download the app, and then synchronize it to your iPhone/iPod Touch.

Option 3. Go to http://www.overdrive.com/software/omc/, select the iPhone version and then click on the ‘Available in App Store’ button. This will bring you out to a preview website and also launch the iTunes store to let you download on your computer and then synchronize your device.

How to use it:

1. Once the OverDrive Media Console for iPhone is downloaded, you can’t use it to search for titles. You need to open up a webpage on your iPhone or iPod Touch and go to trac.lib.overdrive.com. This is a mobile friendly version of TRAC’s OverDrive page where you can search for titles. Remember: you can only download MP3 titles to your iPhone or IPod Touch using the OverDrive Media Console for iPhone.
2. In the search feature you can click the link “View all OverDrive MP3 Audiobook TItles” which will bring up all the MP3 titles. Alternatively, you can search by title or browse by subject, just keep in mind the MP3 limitation.
3. Once you found a title you would like, you must login and check it out as you would normally do on your computer.
4. Then, when you click the prompt to download the title, OverDrive Media Console for iPhone will open automatically! From there you can download it directly onto your iPhone/iPod Touch and it will be ready to listen to in mere moments!
