Can I order items from other libraries?

Yes, you can order items in from other libraries.Anyone ordering will need a current Jasper Municipal Library membership. If you do not have one, membership information can be found on this site under Library Services, or you can call the library at 780-852-3652 to check on the status of your membership.

Step 1 - using the search bar at the top of this webpage, type in the title or author of the item to find out if it is in the TRAC system. If the item is not, you may want to look in the TAL system.

Step 2 - If the item is found, click on the title to see more information and to see if it is available to order.

Step 3 - If there are copies available click on the Place Request button. You will be asked to provide your username or barcode (number under the barcode without spaces) and your pin number. You will then be asked for confirmation of your request. Please check Where Is It to see if it is on OUR shelf before ordering.

Step 4 - When you are finished placing your requests make sure you log off by clicking on Log Off in the top left corner of the screen.

If you have any difficulties please contact the library. We would be happy to walk you through the process. Requests can also be placed over the phone. If the item you are looking for is not in the TRAC system you can search the TAL catalogue. When you request an item from TAL you will need your library card, and contact information. Please note that we belong to the Yellowhead Regional Library System.

Interlibrary loan users, please be aware that items on hold will only be kept for 7 days. If the item arrives on a Wednesday the hold expires the following Tuesday. The system can automatically send email notices or text messages for overdues and items on hold. If you would prefer to get a notice by email or text, rather than a phone call, please let the staff know and we can set that up for you. To avoid missing these important emails please make sure your email filter is not picking them out as spam.
